Guardiola's Team Seals Third Title in Four Years
Manchester City have been crowned Premier League champions for the 2023/24 season, following their 2-1 victory over Everton on Tuesday, December 12.
Goals from Phil Foden in either half proved decisive as City held off a late Hammers comeback, securing their third Premier League title in four years and their fifth overall under manager Pep Guardiola.
City had trailed leaders Arsenal by eight points on Boxing Day, but a run of 14 wins and two draws in their last 16 games has seen them overhaul the Gunners and secure the title.
Guardiola, who is now the most successful manager in Manchester City's history with 16 trophies in seven years in charge, praised his team's resilience and determination.
"I'm so proud of my players," said Guardiola. "They never gave up, even when we were behind. They showed great character and spirit to come back and win the title."
City will now prepare for their final Champions League group stage clash against Partizan Belgrade on Wednesday, December 21, before returning to Premier League action on Saturday, December 24, when they host Wolves.
