Southgate confirms squad for summer tournament

England have named their squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament in Germany, with Gareth Southgate confirming his 26-man group on Wednesday.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been included in the squad, along with Crystal Palace's Dean Henderson and Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale.

Southgate has also named four centre-backs in the squad, with Manchester City's John Stones, Chelsea's Ben Chilwell, Tottenham's Eric Dier and Manchester United's Harry Maguire all included.

In midfield, Liverpool's Jordan Henderson, Manchester City's Kalvin Phillips and Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham are among those named.

And in attack, Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling, Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden are all included in the squad.

England are still hopeful of ending their 58-year wait for a trophy this summer, and they will be one of the favourites to win the tournament in Germany.

The squad numbers which England's players will wear at this summer's UEFA EURO 2024 tournament in Germany have also been confirmed.
